This is the second time I have driven up to Placerville from southern CA to purchase a vehicle from Thompson's. The first time I bought a new 03 Wrangler that I still have. I liked how I was treated the first time and I feel that I was treated fairly this time as well.This is my first Toyota and if all goes well I would gladly make the trip up and purchase another.

Panic!!! Visions of blood-sucking salesmen began swirling around in my head, I felt faint. But I needn't have worried. I’d rather be lucky than good, and it was my lucky day when I stumbled across the website of Thompson’s Truck and RV center in Placerville while looking for a truck to replace one totaled in an accident. I had specific requirements for model, year, and equipment for towing, and hauling, and capacity, both in load, and passengers. Being from Fredericksburg, Texas, I got on the internet, and found the truck at Thompson’s that was absolutely dead solid perfect. It was a 2007 Chevrolet 3500 Dually 4x4, even in the color I wanted. I called David Massey, my Ace Sales Associate, visited with him, verified with Daniel Herrera that the truck was still available, and decided to buy based on the fact that there were 32 pictures of the truck, and a carfax report all online. After making arrangements for financing, I was pleased to work with David Clark, the General Sales Manager to finalize the paperwork. I travelled from Fredericksburg to Placerville via Amtrak (wonderful trip), got picked up at my hotel in Sacramento, fed a hearty breakfast, and when I got my first look at my new truck, it was everything I thought it would be. I suppose some people would think that buying a truck over the internet sight unseen, without a test drive would be risky, but my instincts about Thompson’s and their fine staff proved correct: They are a wonderful bunch of honest hardworking folks looking to help every buyer find the vehicle of their dreams at an honest price. I’m glad I met them, tickled with my new truck, and would recommend them without hesitation or exception for anyone looking for a vehicle, new or pre-owned.

Better than expected service.  Typically I'm leery of sales people.  But Dan and Bill provided exceptional service.  From test drive to trade-in to drive-off they were great.  I would definitely purchase from them again.  Although I was a bit suspect of the financing portion of the transaction (i.e.- the 'optional' or 'mandatory' gap insurance?) to the purchase of the extended warranty to 'assist in the finance of this vehicle,' I still came out with a great suv.  In the end, I'm extremely happy with Thompson's for getting me in a kick-ass truck (can I say that?)  Only thing that I would have changed?  I really missed out on the haggling process.  If I had more time...Again, to re-iterate, good experience.  Rey
